The Browser Is Becoming an AI Workspace
The browser used to be mainly a window into websites. Increasingly, it is becoming a workspace where users can ask questions about pages, summarize information, compare sources, fill forms, and organize research.
The benefit is context. Instead of copying information between applications, an assistant can work closer to the content being viewed. The risk is also context: users need to understand what information an AI feature can access and what actions it is allowed to take.
For knowledge workers, the biggest productivity gain may come from reducing small interruptions. Summarizing a long page, extracting action items, or converting research into a structured note can save minutes repeatedly throughout the day.
The best browser AI will feel less like a chatbot and more like a quiet assistant that appears exactly when needed.
