The Rise of the Long Weekend Trip
A three-day or four-day trip can provide a reset without requiring a long leave period. The trick is choosing destinations with manageable travel time and building an itinerary around one or two strong experiences rather than trying to see everything.
For city trips, stay near public transport. For nature trips, reduce transfers and leave room for weather changes. A good short itinerary protects time for rest because travel itself consumes energy.
Long weekends also work well for testing a destination before committing to a longer holiday. If you love the place, return later with more time.
The goal of a short trip is not maximum sightseeing. It is maximum value from limited time.
