AI Stocks: How to Separate Real Growth From Hype
AI can create real demand for chips, cloud infrastructure, software, cybersecurity, and services. The investment challenge is determining which companies can convert that demand into sustainable profits.
A useful checklist includes: how much revenue is actually AI-related, whether customers are spending repeatedly, what incremental margins look like, how much capital is required, and whether competitors can reproduce the advantage.
Fast growth can also attract aggressive valuations. Investors should distinguish between a growing market and a company that will capture attractive economics within that market.
The technology may be revolutionary. The stock still has to be purchased at a sensible relationship between price and future cash flows.
